Senior JUI-F Leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed Passes Away in Quetta
He will be laid to rest in his ancestral hometown

Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, a senior politician and leader in Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), passed away at his home in Quetta on Wednesday after an illness related to his kidneys.
His family stated that he will be laid to rest in his ancestral hometown, while details regarding his funeral prayer will be announced later.
His death was confirmed by JUI-F, expressing deep sorrow.
Ahmed was born in 1951 in Quetta and received his education in Arabic, Islamic literature, Quran, Hadith, and Fiqh.
He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan twice, from 1988 to 1990 and again from 2002 to 2007.
He also served as a Senator of Pakistan from March 1991 to March 1994.
In early 1973, Ahmed began his political career in Balochistan at the provisional and national levels. Afterwards, he held important positions in Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam and the Pakistan National Alliance and was also the Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly.
Hafiz Hussain Ahmed had distanced himself from JUI-F due to internal differences but rejoined the party in December 2022 after reconciling with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
JUI-F removed Ahmed as the party’s spokesperson and appointed Aslam Ghauri to the position.
