Severe Cold Alert: Islamabad Braces for Sub-Freezing Temperatures Tonight

The PMD forecasts cold and dry weather to prevail across most regions of the country until December 14.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a severe cold weather warning for Islamabad, predicting that temperatures will plummet below freezing tonight. Residents should prepare for a significant drop in temperature, expected to reach around -1°C.

The weather will remain predominantly cold and dry across the region, with particularly frigid conditions anticipated in hilly areas during the night and early morning hours. Current humidity levels are around 67%, and light winds are expected to enhance the chill factor.

In light of these conditions, the PMD advises residents to take necessary precautions to stay warm and limit outdoor activities during the coldest hours of the night. This forecast reflects ongoing winter weather patterns affecting northern Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of preparedness as temperatures continue to dip.
