Shafqat Mahmood left surprised over students’ negative reaction to schools reopening decision

Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has been left surprised over students’ negative reaction to the reopening of educational institutes.

It was earlier on Monday afternoon when the minister announced the reopening of educational institutions in phases. And that students will not be promoted without exams.

Ever since hashtags #ShafqatMahmood and #schoolsreopening trending on top of Twitter with all sorts of reactions. 

Reacting to the trend, Shafqat Mehmood took to Twitter and said: “It surprises me when I see the negative reaction of some students to school/college/Universities reopening. Education is a gateway to the future. Also, Education years are also the best time of one’s life. Everyone should welcome the opportunity to study and be among friends.”

According to the new schedule:

1.Online learning can resume from Jan 11

2. Classes 9 to 12 would start from Jan 18

3.Classes 1 to 8 would start from Jan 25

4.Higher education classes at universities and colleges to start from Feb 1

5.Board exams have been postponed to May and June

While another meeting will be held on January 14 to review the situation.
