After a four month political hiatus in London, former chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has returned to Pakistan on Saturday. The purpose of his visit is to help the nation during the time of the Coronavirus crisis.
“Coronavirus has wreaked havoc in Pakistan and the world. I am coming back to Pakistan to be with the people,” Shahbaz was quoted by leading publications while leaving from London.
The President of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has made the return on the directives of his elder brother Nawaz Sharif who is currently undergoing treatment in the UK.
“I am returning to Pakistan on the direction of my leader Nawaz Sharif. I believe my services are needed in Pakistan at this time of crisis. Nawaz Sharif has asked me to help victims of the coronavirus and be among the masses during their time of need,” shared Shahbaz.
The former chief minister of Punjab is often regarded for his good governance in the province, and Nawaz wanted him to utilize his expertise on the Dengue fight to help eradicate the ongoing pandemic. While Shahbaz wanted to stay with his elder brother for his cardiac surgery next week, he was asked to do otherwise.
