Shahzad Akbar, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability, has tested positive for coronavirus.
Mirza Shahzad Akbar shared the update via a tweet on Saturday.
“I have tested covid positive and have isolated myself at home. Plz follow COVID sops and stay safe,” he said.
The development comes on Saturday when Pakistan has reported 63 COVID-related deaths and 2,512 new infections.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 57,077 tests were conducted across the country, while the positivity ratio remained 4.4 percent.
Earlier this month, Adviser for Commerce and Investment to Prime Minister Abdul Razak Dawood had also tested positive for coronavirus.
