Shakargarh lawyers brutally beat woman outside court, video viral on internet

A group of lawyers brutally beat a woman outside a local court in Shakargarh Tehsil of Punjab.

The video of the incident surfaced on internet showing the woman being pushed and beat by a group of lawyers in the presence of policemen outside the courtroom went viral on social media.

As confirmed by an official of Shakargarh police, the unfortunate incident happened after a brawl between the lawyers and Amrat, the woman who had come for an appearance at the court hearing.

Amrat, who is a resident of the administrative district of Shakargarh, claimed that the dispute started after the lawyers misbehaved with her whereas the advocates alleged that she attacked them.

The woman was fighting a case pertaining to a door in the street near her residence.

On the other hand, the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) for Shakargarh, Khalil Ahmad Malik said that authorities have received petitions from the parties and a first information report (FIR) would be filed after investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, People on social media also expressed their anger over the tragic incident.

A Twitter user wrote,“Shameless lawyers of Shakargarh bar beating a poor girl in presence of law enforcers. This abominable act must be condemned and concerned authorities must take immediate action for dispensation of justice.”

“Shameless lawyers of Shakargarh beating a poor girl in the presence of two policemen in a broad day light is highly condemnable act and it shd be seriously noticed by concerned for dispensations of justice”.
