Shaukat Yousafzai Critiques PTI’s Flawed Strategies Impacting Imran Khan’s Future
In an interview with Aaj News, Yousafzai criticised the party leadership’s approach to the recent protests in Islamabad.
Shaukat Yousafzai, a prominent leader within Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has publicly criticized the party’s current strategies, labelling them as “flawed” and detrimental to Khan’s political future.
In an interview with Aaj News, Yousafzai criticised the party leadership’s approach to the recent protests in Islamabad.
He expressed concern that the misguided approaches taken by party leaders could adversely affect Khan, who is currently facing significant legal challenges and political isolation.
Yousafzai emphasized that the PTI’s reliance on street protests and confrontational tactics is counterproductive, arguing that such methods alienate potential allies and undermine the party’s credibility as a proponent of democratic reform.
He pointed out that instead of fostering dialogue and cooperation, PTI has opted for agitation, which he believes is eroding public trust and destabilizing the political landscape in Pakistan.
Moreover, Yousafzai noted that the party’s failure to mobilize broader national support during recent protests indicates a strategic miscalculation. The protests, aimed at securing Khan’s release from legal troubles, have not only fizzled out but have also left supporters disillusioned due to the chaotic nature of the demonstrations and the heavy-handed response from security forces.
He called for a reassessment of PTI’s strategies to focus more on institutional reforms rather than solely on Khan’s personal battles, suggesting that a shift in approach is necessary for the party to regain its footing in Pakistan’s tumultuous political environment,
