Shawwal crescent has not been sighted in Saudi Arabia!

The Saudi Supreme Court announced that Wednesday, May 12 will be the 30th of Ramazan.
 
Eid ul Fitr in the kingdom will be celebrated on Thursday, 13 May.

 

The announcement was also shared on the official Twitter handle of the Haramain Sharifain.

 

Attempt to search for the Shawwal Crescent were officially made at different observatories in Saudi Arabia, including the cities of Sumair and Tumai. 

Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court had called on all Muslims throughout the Kingdom to sight the crescent of the month of Shawwal on Tuesday evening (May 11).

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Supreme Court said whoever sights the crescent by naked eyes or through binoculars to report to the nearest court and register his testimony, or report to the nearest center to help reach the nearest court.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior imposes new fines on gatherings before Eid Al-Fitr.
