Crackdown against PTI leaders continues following the 9 May riots while Shireen Mazari is reported to have been arrested for the third time!
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former human rights minister Shireen Mazari was on Wednesday arrested again, hours after she was released from custody on Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) orders.
As reported Mazari had been arrested by women personnel of the Punjab Police under Section 4 of the Maintenance of Public Order.
Imaan Mazari, confirmed the arrest of her mother a third time on her Twitter handle and said: “They have taken her again”.
Meanwhile, PTI’s official Twitter handle claimed that “police have abducted party leader Shireen Mazari again, in a clear violation of the Islamabad High Court order prohibiting her arrest until a hearing tomorrow”.
Mazari was first arrested on May 12 under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO).
PTI leader was granted bail on May 16 but was re-arrested on the same day as she was leaving the Adiala Jail.
On Wednesday, Mazari was granted bail by IHC again but was arrested from her residence in Islamabad for the third time.
