Shortened Taraweeh in Masjid-i-Haram to be held without public attendance

Taraweeh in Masjid-i-Haram and Masjid e Nabvi to be held without public attendance and has been reduced to 10 Rakkats.

Imam-i-Kaaba Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais announced rules for holding of Taraweeh prayers in Masjid-i-Haram on Tuesday.

The rules were also shared on Facebook, according to which Taraweeh will be shortened and held without public attendance.

Aitikaf, an Islamic practice of secluding oneself in the mosque to pray, has been canceled at both holy mosques Masjid e Haram and Masjid e Nabvi.

Meanwhile, the Umrah pilgrimage will remain suspended until further notice.
