Despite the surging coronavirus cases in the province, the government of Sindh in a new decision has allowed shopping malls to remain open on weekends.
According to the notification issued by the government, shopping malls will now be allowed to operate seven days a week under the government’s COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
However, the shopping mall will not be allowed to open if it is situated in a virus hotspot area.
In hotspots, areas only essential businesses are permitted to operate.
On Friday, Sindh reported 748 new cases of Covid-19 and 20 deaths.
According to the statement of CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah, out of 748 new cases, 573 have been detected from Karachi, including 186 from East, 176 South, 74 from Korangi and Central each, 43 Malir, and 20 West.
While Hyderabad has 5, Badin and Larkana 4 each, Jamshoro 3, Sukkur, Jacobabad and Khairpur 2 each, Sagarh, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, and Mirpurkhas 1 each coronavirus cases.
