Sindh governor Kamran Tessori vows action over Karachi’s deadly dumper accidents

He announced plans to take the issue to court

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has made a strong commitment to address the alarming rise in accidents involving dumper trucks in Karachi.

Addressing a press conference at Governor House on Thursday, Kamran Tessori declared, “I’ll stand in front of dumpers myself,” emphasizing his determination to confront the issue directly and take decisive action against the reckless operation of these vehicles, which have been linked to numerous fatalities in the city.

He announced plans to take the issue to court, asking: “Are the children of this city orphaned to be killed like this? Enough is enough; we won’t allow this to continue any further.”

Tessori’s announcement comes amid increasing public outcry over the dangers posed by dumper trucks, which have been involved in several deadly incidents. He has vowed to implement strict measures to hold accountable those responsible for these accidents and ensure that safety regulations are enforced more rigorously.

He further asked Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to give orders for an operation to be started tonight.

The Sindh Governor also demanded answers from the Traffic deputy inspector general, questioning why existing laws were not being enforced against these vehicles.

In addition to his commitment to safety, Tessori has criticized the provincial government’s inaction regarding this pressing issue, calling for immediate reforms to prevent further tragedies.

Tessori also announced that December 24 would be observed as Mohajir Culture Day at the Sindh Governor’s House, honouring Karachi’s diverse heritage.
