Sindh Govt Declares December 25 Public Holiday to Honour Quaid-e-Azam

December 26 will be a holiday for Christian employees in observance of Christmas

The Sindh government has officially declared December 25, 2023, as a public holiday across all government offices in honour of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birth anniversary.

This announcement was made through a notification from the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department of the Sindh government, which also specified that December 26 will be a holiday for Christian employees in observance of Christmas.

Quaid-e-Azam Day, celebrated annually on December 25, marks the birth of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. This year, the nation will commemorate his 147th birthday with various ceremonies and events designed to honour his legacy and contributions to the creation of Pakistan. The day will begin with gun salutes in major cities, followed by a ceremonial changing of the guard at Jinnah’s mausoleum in Karachi.

Additionally, numerous social, political, and non-governmental organizations are organizing special programs to celebrate his life and achievements.

Jinnah’s birthday is not only a significant national holiday but also a day of reflection on his vision for Pakistan. Citizens participate in various activities, including prayers and tributes, emphasizing his role in advocating for the rights of Muslims in the subcontinent and leading to the establishment of Pakistan in 1947.
