Sindh govt. release funds for suspended Aman Ambulance service

Aman Foundation resumes its ambulance service in Karachi after being suspended due to the unavailability of funds. The Sindh govt. has released funds worth Rs. 179 million to keep the service operational.

The news of funds release was shared by senator Murtuza Wahab on social media. While sharing the photo of the cheque, the senator wrote, “Cheque of Rs 179 Million has been issued to Aman Foundation for the ambulance service”.


Aman Health Foundation also issued a statement regarding ambulance service resumption.
“After the provision of funds from the Government of Sindh, our services have been resumed. We sincerely regret the inconvenience,” Aman Health Foundation said on Twitter.

Earlier, the matter of Aman Ambulance service suspension was also raised on social media. ‘Life-Saving’ Aman Ambulance service had been suspended due to a lack of funds, no salary was paid since 4 months.

Those who tried on Thursday to call an Aman ambulance through its helpline 1021, heard a recorded message which said that due to unavailability of funds, the Sindh Rescue and Medical Services was temporarily not available and the ambulance service would be restored in the city as soon as the funds were provided by the Sindh government.
