Spokesperson Sindh Government Murtaza Wahab has issued a clarification in response to a few media reports claiming that the provincial government had banned the use of the Sinopharm vaccine and had sought the names of officials who were still administering it to people.
In a tweet, Murtaza Wahab said, “Sinopharm has not been banned in #Sindh, only its fresh dose has been stopped for the time being. This decision has been made to ensure adequate supply for people who have already received their 1st dose of Sinopharm.”
In his other tweet, he shared the Last 7 days ratio of COVID19 positive patients in Sindh.
Coronavirus vaccination centres in Sindh remained opened during the Eid holidays.
Furthermore, a walk-in system had been launched to instantly vaccinate any eligible person without the system of prior registration using the cell phone.
Sindh is going to become the first province in Pakistan to start vaccinating people below 40 years of age against coronavirus from May 16.
