SSP South suspends policemen for harassing couple at Sea View, Karachi
The Additional IG Police Karachi, Ameer Ahmed Shaikh has taken notice of the harassing incident that took place yesterday at the Sea View, Karachi. A married couple was harassed and manhandled, the incident came to light as the video was shared on social media.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Pir Muhammad Shah on Tuesday said all four policemen were suspended for harassing and manhandling a married couple. As the video of the incident went viral on social media.
Addressing a press conference, the SSP South said all the policemen involved in the manhandling have been suspended and added there is no space for such cops in the police department, who misbehave with the people.
While sharing the details, he further added, “Three of the policemen are under arrest, while raids being conducted for the arrest of fourth one”.
The video which is doing rounds on social media shows the policemen, three of them were in plain clothes, and can be heard asking the couple to show their ‘Nikahnama‘(marriage certificate). Later the cop can be seen manhandling the woman as she tried to make a video of them. The man can be heard screaming that they are husband and wife.
