Storm Batters Peshawar: 3 Dead, 12 Injured Amid Strong Winds and Damage

A powerful storm hit Peshawar on Sunday, May 18, 2025, causing significant damage and casualties. The storm brought strong winds that toppled trees, walls, and signboards across the city, leading to widespread disruption including power outages affecting multiple areas.
Casualties reported include three deaths and 12 injuries. Two men, cousins and vegetable vendors, died when a large old tree collapsed in the Old Vegetable Market area.
Separately, a six-year-old child was killed by a wall collapse in the Rano Garhi area.
Injured individuals were taken to hospitals from various affected neighbourhoods such as the Afghan Colony, Asad Anwar Colony, and Rano Garhi.

It also caused damage to electricity infrastructure, with 110 feeders tripping and power lines being damaged, resulting in prolonged power outages in parts of Peshawar and other districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Local authorities and rescue teams responded promptly, clearing debris and providing medical assistance.
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister expressed condolences and assured support for the victims and affected families
