Strong earthquake jolts Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Jehlum and other Northern cities of Pakistan

A strong earthquake has jolted federal capital and other northern cities of Pakistan. According to the initial reports, at least one death and 50 injured. Casualties feared to increase by looking at the impact.

5.8 magnitude tremor struck at 4.33 pm local time and was felt in various cities including Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Lahore on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the news source, the epicenter of the quake was lying 5 km north of Jhelum, with a shallow depth of 10 Kilometers.

According to Geo News, tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Murree, Jhelum, Charsadda, Swat, Khyber Agency, Abbottabad, Bajaur, Nowshera, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, and Kohistan.

The quake sent people racing out of homes, buildings, and offices in various cities across the country.

Reports of damages are being reported through social media. People in the federal capital and other cities took to social media to share the impact of the earthquake.
