Supreme Court declares Imran Khan’s arrest ‘illegal’
Supreme Court orders Imran Khan’s immediate release after declaring his arrest by NAB illegal.
The court also directed Khan to approach the Islamabad High Court (IHC) once again.
A major relief has been provided to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Chairman Imran Khan as A 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Athar Minullah conduct the hearing of the petition filed by PTI.
The arrest of Imran Khan was challenged in the apex court yesterday in which PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry filed an application in the court.
The SC had directed the authorities to present Imran Khan at 4:30 pm.
He was brought in a convoy of 15 vehicles amid strict security.
PTI Chief was produced before the SC at around 5:40 pm, more than an hour later.
The order came shortly after the PTI chief was presented in court.
When the hearing resumed, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial told Imran Khan, “It is good to see you.”
