Case registered at Humak Police Station in Islamabad, with Section 506 and Section 342 of PPC included in FIR.

Civil Judge’s wife has been booked for allegedly torturing teenage house help in Islamabad!

According to Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, a case has been registered against the wife of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez for allegedly subjecting a 14-year-old girl, employed as a domestic help at their house, to severe torture.

In a tweet, Islamabad police said that a case had been registered on the complaint of the victim’s father.

“Efforts are being made to arrest the accused,” police said, adding that the case would be investigated on merit.

“All legal requirements will be met. The law is equal for all,” the police added.

The harrowing details of the 14-year-old girl being brutally beaten up came to light when the victim was shifted to a hospital in Lahore with serious injuries and the family accused Judge Asim Hafeez’s wife, Somia, of torturing the child.

The case has been registered at Police Station Humak on behalf of the girl’s father, Manga Khan, under Section 506 (committing offense of criminal intimidation) and Section 342 (wrongfully confining a person) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

First Information Report (FIR) states that the complainant had sent his 14-year-old daughter to work as a domestic help on an Rs10,000 monthly salary, with the reference of an acquaintance named Chaudhry Mukhtar, seven months ago.

The girl’s parents found out about her being subjected to torture at the judge’s house on Monday (July 23) when they went to meet her.

It may be noted that the victim’s parents have said that they hadn’t met her during these seven months but talked to her on the phone sometimes.

“When we [complainant, his wife, and her brother] entered the gate, we heard my daughter crying. Hearing that made me concerned so we went towards the room and found my daughter in wounded condition […],” the complainant stated in the FIR.

The complainant added that his daughter’s arms and legs were also injured and one of her teeth was also broken.

He further said that his daughter’s eyes, her lips, and her entire face were swollen. He said that there were also wounds on his daughter’s back and her ribs were broken while there were small wounds all over her body.

He said that there were also bruises around his daughter’s neck as if someone “used to strangle her”.

The complainant added that they found serious wounds on her head, which were “infested with maggots”.

The complainant in FIR has accused Somia of torturing and keeping his daughter in illegal custody since the day she started working at the judge’s house and sought action on the matter.
