Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Saturday has appointed Khadim Hussain Rizvi’s son Hafiz Saad Hussain Rizvi as the new chief of the party.

TLP made the announcement of the new chief’s appointment at the funeral procession of Khadim Rizvi
at Minar-e-Pakistan where thousands of Khadim Rizvi’s followers and supporters had gathered to offer his funeral prayers.

Saad Rizvi also took oath as the new ameer of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan at the procession. He also led the funeral prayers of his father TLP Chief Khadim Rizvi who passes away in Lahore on Thursday.

Saad Rizvi had been serving as the deputy secretary-general of the TLP, was nominated to succeed his father by the party leadership, and later was confirmed by the High Council (Majlis-e-Shoora).

Hafiz Saad Rivi, the newly appointed TLP chief while talking to the 24NewsHD TV channel said, “My father’s demise is not the loss of our family but the loss of Muslim Ummah. From Namoos-e-Risalat (SAW) to Kashmir issue, my father led the people and raised his voice like nobody else while confined to a wheel-chair.”

“I do not become an Ameer on my own because I have been appointed as new party chief by the party. By the will of Allah Almighty, I will fulfill the mission of my father Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi and will serve my party as per the manifesto as best as I could,” Saad Rizvi added.
