Thailand Prepares Military Evacuation Flights for Nationals in Israel and Iran
Thai embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran have established contingency plans, including a temporary shelter outside Tehran for nationals.

As the conflict between Israel and Iran intensifies with missile exchanges entering their fifth day, the Thai government has ordered its military to prepare evacuation flights for Thai nationals residing in both countries.
An estimated 40,000 Thais live in Israel, primarily working on farms under a government labour scheme, while around 300 reside in Iran.
Government spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub confirmed that military aircraft are being readied, and Thai embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran have established contingency plans, including a temporary shelter outside Tehran for nationals.
The Foreign Ministry, led by Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, has activated the Rapid Response Centre to monitor developments closely and coordinate evacuation efforts. Thai citizens have been urged to stay informed via official channels and to download the Thai Consular mobile app for direct communication with embassies.
The evacuation readiness comes amid escalating violence, including Iranian missile barrages on Israeli cities and Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites. Israel has warned up to 300,000 residents in Tehran to evacuate, while over 600 foreign nationals from various countries have already fled Iran via Azerbaijan.
The regional situation remains volatile, with fears of a broader conflict involving proxy groups in Iraq and Syria. Thailand’s proactive measures underscore its commitment to safeguarding its citizens amid the growing instability in the Middle East.
