The British Consul-general to KSA embraces Islam

The British Consul-General to Jeddah, in KSA, has embraced Islam.

His new Islamic name is Seif Usher.

The British Consul-General broke the news on Twitter earlier this week and also shared photos of him standing in the courtyard of Masjid Al Nabawi (PBUH) in Madina.

“I am very happy to return to my favorite city – Madina – and perform the Fajr prayer at the Prophet’s Mosque,” he shared in a tweet.

In his later tweet, Usher added that he’s looking forward to seeing the return of British Muslims to Madina.

“There were over 100,000 visitors each year (before the Covid crisis). I am sure that this number will increase as the wonderful development of facilities and infrastructure continues in the Kingdom,” he tweeted.

Following his announcement, congratulatory messages are pouring in for the British ambassador.

Earlier, British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Simon Collis embraced Islam in 2016. He also became the first British ambassador to perform Hajj in the said year.

“I have converted to Islam after being in Muslim societies for 30 years, and right before getting married to Huda,” Collis told Arab News.
