The first Ramadan will be on April 14, claims Fawad Chaudhry before Ruet-e-Hilal

The holy month of Ramadan will start from 14 April in Pakistan, claims the Federal Minister of Science and Technology on Saturday.

“The crescent of Ramadan will be clearly visible on the evening of April 13 in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and many other cities and the first fast will be on April 14. May this Ramadan be a day of mercy and blessings for all. Amen,” he said in a tweet.

The federal minister shared his claim with reference to the Ministry of Science & Technology’s prediction.

“The moon of Ramzan, 1442 AH will be sighted on the evening of April 13, 2021, and the first Ramzan will be on the 14th April 2021 ( InshaAllah). The moon will be clearly sighted in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Karachi,” the ministry had notified.

However, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on April 13 to sight the moon for the holy month of Ramadan.

Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad has summoned the session of zonal and district committees that will take place at their respective headquarters.

This is going to the first Ramadan moon sighting session under the new chairman, Moulana Azad, who was appointed by the federal government last year in  December.

He replaced Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman. for the post of chairman of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
