There Will Be No Examinations For Inter, Matric students
There will be no exams for Matric and Intermediate classes and all students will be promoted to the next, announces Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood on Thursday.
Addressing a media briefing in Islamabad, the federal minister said that the step has been taken in the wake of the lockdown and prevailing coronavirus situation in the country.
He said that the students in class 10 and 12 will be promoted based on their performance in class nine and 11.

He further added that students who failed in 40 percent of subjects will be given passing marks.
The minister also pointed out that class 11 students will be given three percent additional marks.
He said those students who are not satisfied with their results will be able to sit for special exams and they should notify the board by July 1.
“These will be held in September or November depending on when the situation improves.”
Earlier, Sindh Education Saeed Ghani had said that due to coronavirus, there will be no examinations for inter and matric students.
He added that the decision to not hold exams is final and was taken by the Sindh government’s Education Steering Committee. He said that students will be promoted without exams.
Ghani further added that the Sindh government will introduce an amendment to existing laws to promote students to the next grade.
