Trump is Safe Following ‘Multiple’ Gunshots Fired Near His Golf Course in Florida
The former president was golfing at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach when the incident occurred
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is reported to be unharmed following an incident on Sunday, where two individuals exchanged gunfire outside his Florida golf club, according to The New York Post and law enforcement sources.
Trump’s campaign had previously confirmed his safety after gunshots were heard nearby but provided no further details.
“Sources indicated that Trump was never in danger,” the newspaper reported.
When the incident occurred on Sunday, Trump was golfing at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club is based in Palm Beach.
“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details are available at this time,” Trump communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement.
On the other hand, Anthony Guglielmi, the Chief of Communications for the United States Secret Service, wrote in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), “The Secret Service, in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m.”
He also stated that Trump “is safe” and added that the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office “will have more details soon.”
