Twitter Inc. has fired more than 90% of its staff in India over the weekend, it emerges on Monday.
The firing spree is reported to be part of global reductions by the company’s new owner Elon Musk.
As reported, in India, the company has just over 200 employees, while the massive cut has left just over a dozen of its staff at present.
Twitter offices in India are located in the cities of New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
According to a Bloomberg report, the company is left with just about 3,700 employees globally.
Those still employed by the company are being pushed by Elon Musk to ship new features with several employees reportedly even sleeping in their offices to meet deadlines, the report added.
