Twitter reinstates blue ticks for some handles

Twitter has reinstated blue ticks for some handles!
It emerges that the microblogging company CEO Elon Musk has only restored the blue checks for users that have the highest follower counts, seemingly caving on the $8 subscription issue.
Apparently on Friday and Saturday, a number of celebrities across the globe regained their blue ticks, seemingly without action on their part.
In Pakistan, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, skipper Babar Azam, Mahira Khan and a few others have got their blue ticks back.
Furthermore, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, former US president Donald Trump and Pope Francis, Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman, Malala Yousifzai, and many others have regained their blue tick marks on their respective Twitter handles.
When the Twitter boss launched a subscription model for verified users a movement called “Block The Blue” was launched.
Subsequently, Musk restored the blue tick for the users propagating the movement or was critical of the new policy.
Many have reacted to the situation by posting on Twitter:
I don’t know what happened but I’m happy to have my blue tick back so everyone knows I am still Malala 🌝

Friends told me my blue verified check was restored. Dont know why. I've paid nothing. I gave no number. @StephenKing reported same. My account remains so no one steals the account name. And I can tell you this madness hasn't happened on Insta or Spoutible.

On April 21, Twitter finally started removing “legacy” blue ticks from verified accounts, with some of the world’s best-known figures losing the verification sign.
