The move has led to celebrities across the globe losing their checkmarks as Twitter gets rid of legacy verification unless they pay for Twitter Blue.
From now on all celebrities and other notable figures will have to subscribe to Twitter Blue to be verified.
Many Pakistani notable Twitter users apart from politicians, showbiz and sports personalities, including Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Mahira Khan, Babar Azam and others have also got blue tick removed from their Twitter profiles.

Pakistan’s sports personalities, including skipper Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, and cricketer-turned-commentator Wasim Akram Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi don’t have Blue Ticks on their profiles any more.
Meanwhile, it emerges that the former finance minister Miftah Ismail, the official National Assembly handle, PTI leaders Hammad Azhar, Fawad Chaudhry, and Asad Qaiser are among those who have bought the blue badge by paying $8.
Among celebrities, singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar has also subscribed to the blue tick.
Meanwhile, some high-profile Twitter users including Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kim Kardashian have lost their verification.
On the other hand, Elon Musk has confirmed the Twitter Blue subscriptions he’s personally paying for include William Shatner, LeBron James and Stephen King.
