Twitter’s new feature Fleets leads #RIPTwitter trending worldwide

#RIPTwitter trends worldwide today as people are not happy with the newly introduced feature called ‘Fleets’, which is much similar to Instagram and Snapchat’s stories.

According to Twitter’s Product Lead Kayvon Beykpour this new feature is available for Brazil only for now.

“I know what you’re thinking: “THIS SOUNDS A LOT LIKE STORIES!”. Yes, there are many similarities with the Stories format that will feel familiar to people. There are also a few intentional differences to make the experience more focused on sharing and seeing people’s thoughts”, he wrote.

“We’re hoping that Fleets can help people share the fleeting thoughts that they would have been unlikely to Tweet.

This is a substantial change to Twitter, so we’re excited to learn by testing it (starting with the rollout today in Brazil) and seeing how our customers use it”, he further added.

However, not everyone is happy with this latest development, similar to the concept of stories, Fleets will disappear after 24 hours and can only be responded to via Direct Message.

Reportedly, these Fleets will not appear on the timeline or Twitter feed, they can be viewed by tapping on the avatar of a user.

And here is how the world is reacting to this Twitter’s latest feature:
