US reports record 52,000 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours
The US on Wednesday has recorded 52,000 new cases its highest number of daily injections, according to counts by The Washington Post and Johns Hopkins University.
According to The Washington Post, the US recorded 52,770 cases, while data from Johns Hopkins University reported 46,853 new daily cases.
The US has recorded at least 2.6 million coronavirus cases and over 128,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The new COVID-19 positive cases are being reported from the states of Texas, Arizona, California, North Carolina, and Georgia.
As being reported, the hospitalizations of patients is also increasing in several cities, including Houston, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Californa due to surging infection cases banned indoor dining in Los Angeles as well as service in bars, cinemas, and museums for at least three weeks.
The state of California recorded 7,000 new cases on June 23, according to government data. The state has 222,917 confirmed cases, with at least 5,980 reported deaths.

Effective immediately, 19 counties must close indoors operations for the following sectors:
– Restaurants
– Wineries
– Movie theaters & family entertainment
– Zoos, museums
– Cardrooms
Bars must close ALL operations.
On Wednesday, Texas surpassed its daily record and reported 8,076 new cases of COVID-19, nearly 1,000 more than the day before.
Furthermore, the governor of Michigan also closed bars in the northern state, while Oregon and Pennsylvania have made it compulsory to wear masks.
However, the US President Donald Trump, who has yet to be seen in public wearing a face mask during the coronavirus pandemic, has reiterated his belief that the contagion will “at some point… sort of just disappear, I hope”, AFP reported on Wednesday.
And for wearing a mask in public POTUS added that he would have “no problem” doing so.
