US Weapons Left in Afghanistan Now Arming TTP, Fueling Terror Attacks in Pakistan
The Washington Post report endorses Pakistan’s stance

A recent report by The Washington Post has highlighted that terrorists, including groups like the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), are using US weapons abandoned in Afghanistan during the US withdrawal in 2021.
These weapons include M4A1 carbine rifles, M16 rifles, machine guns, and night-vision goggles, which were originally intended to stabilize Afghanistan but have now ended up in the hands of insurgents in Pakistan, the report establishes.

The report added that the BLA used US-made weapons, including an M4A1 carbine rifle, in the attack on the Jaffar Express train in Balochistan. The serial number of the rifle indicated it was part of the US military equipment left behind in Afghanistan.
Furthermore, many of these weapons have been sold in illicit arms bazaars along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, such as in Darra Adam Khel, where they are used by militant groups to escalate their insurgency.
The TTP and other militant organizations are actively using these advanced US weapons, including night-vision devices and infrared lasers, to carry out attacks against Pakistani security forces.
The presence of these weapons has raised significant security concerns for Pakistan, with officials expressing hope that the US will take decisive action to account for the missing military gear.
