US Woman Reportedly Detained in Dubai After Failed Romance Saga in Karachi
Airlines Hesitant Over Long-Haul Flight Due to Security Concerns

The story of Onijah Andrew Robinson, a U.S. woman who travelled to Karachi after falling in love with a Pakistani man named Nidal Memon, has gained significant attention. Initially, she refused to leave Pakistan due to her failed relationship and expired visa.
In the latest development, it emerges that Onijah Andrew Robinson was detained in Dubai.
She departed from Karachi on February 7 via Emirates flight EK603 to Dubai, where she was supposed to take another flight (EK203) back to New York. However, she did not board the connecting flight and remained in Dubai on an on-arrival visa.
Robinson’s family in New York expected her return but when she didn’t arrive, authorities launched an inquiry. After videos surfaced online showing her in Dubai, U.S. officials contacted UAE authorities leading to restrictions on her movement and eventual detention.
Despite being taken into protective custody, deportation is challenging since she hasn’t violated any laws and holds a valid visit visa.
As reported, airline officials are hesitant about allowing her on long flights due to security concerns related to potential disruptions during travel.
