Verdict in Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s £190m Al-Qadir Trust Case Delayed Again
It will now be delivered on January 17, 2025.

The verdict in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, has been postponed for the third time.
The decision was initially expected to be announced today, January 13, 2025, but will now be delivered on January 17, 2025.
The delay was attributed to the absence of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in court and their legal counsel.
The case revolves around allegations that Khan and others misused £190 million sent by the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) as part of a settlement involving a real estate tycoon. The funds were reportedly intended for the establishment of Al-Qadir University but were allegedly misappropriated, causing significant financial loss to the national exchequer.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a corruption reference against Khan and several others in December 2023, leading to their indictment on February 27, 2024.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana expressed frustration over the repeated delays and the failure of the accused to appear despite prior notifications.
“Bushra Bibi had knowledge of the verdict being announced but she did not appear before the court,” Judge Rana said. “The PTI founder was sent a message twice but he also did not appear in court yet.”
The judge also said he was present in the court since 8:30 am but “neither the suspects nor their lawyers appeared”. “The decision — fully ready and signed — is present with me today,” he asserted.
“The suspects were also given numerous chances during the trial,” Judge Rana added. According to the court, Imran told jail officials that he would not appear in court until his lawyers and family members arrived there.
The court previously reserved its verdict for December 18, 2024, with earlier postponements on December 23 and January 6, 2025.
