It’s going to be warmer Sunday for Karachi, warns Met Office

Summer has finally arrived in the city of Karachi, as the metropolitan is likely to receive extreme hot temperatures for Sunday, warns Met office. Karachi is facing high temperatures during day time for almost three days.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi will be facing extreme hot weather in the three days, starting Friday till Sunday. Weather conditions are owing to the change in the wind direction as well as the sea breeze coming to a standstill.

Director met office, Abdul Rasheed, said: “The city’s temperature on Friday was recorded to be 38 degrees Centigrade. The trend is likely to continue for the next two to three days and in the daytime, the temperature could touch 39 degrees Centigrade”

He further added: “However, there is no threat of heatwave, neither any such advisory has been issued by the Met office. We keep all institutions concerned updated of the weather trend and the same is conveyed to all relevant authorities.”

For Karachi, it is being predicted that this year it might hit a record high temperature since 2015, which the heatwave took the lives of at least 2,000 people.
