Wearing face mask made mandatory in smog hit regions of Punjab

Wearing a face mask has been made mandatory in smog-hit regions of Punjab!
A notification issued to this effect stated that the condition of wearing face masks has been enforced in Lahore and Gujranwala divisions for the prevention and control of airborne diseases and to ensure public health in the province.
The decision has been made as Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin are likely to have the highest Air Quality Index during the next week.
The caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also announced the decision on Sunday in a social media post.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the decision was taken in response to deteriorating air quality in Punjab.
“Prioritising health is our collective responsibility and please adhere to the guidelines for a safer community,” he added.
