Winter Chill Hits Pakistan: Karachi Sees 11°C, Balochistan Plunges to -6°C
Karachi's minimum temperature is expected to range between 10-12°C due to current conditions
Karachi is currently experiencing a significant drop in temperature, with reports indicating it has reached as low as 11°C. This marks a notable shift as the city transitions into winter.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday predicted that Karachi’s minimum temperature is expected to range between 10-12°C due to current conditions, which include 36% humidity and northeasterly winds blowing at 8 km/h.
The decrease in temperature comes after the Met Office issued a warning last week about a “mild cold wave” affecting Sindh, predicting night-time temperatures to fall between 7-9°C.
Karachi is not alone in experiencing these weather changes; various regions in Balochistan have also seen temperatures drop below zero due to the ongoing cold wave in the province.
Regions in Balochistan are facing even colder conditions, with Quetta recording temperatures as low as -4°C and Kalat dropping to -6°C.
Other areas with low recorded temperatures include Nokkundi (0°C), Gwadar (7°C) and Sibi (9°C).
