Youm-e-Ashur being observed today with due solemnity

The nation observes Youm-e-Ashur all across Pakistan today with due solemnity to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions in Karbala.

Karbala gives a special message to Muslims all over the world that they should be ready to offer any sacrifice for the promotion of high values and principles of Islam.

The special messages on Youm-e-Ashur were shared by President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Ali and PM Imran Khan, quotes Radio Pakistan.

In his message on Youm-e-Ashur, the Prime Minister said this day revives the unprecedented and supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

“The incident gives a message to Muslims that they should be ready to offer any sacrifice for the promotion of high values and principles of Islam”, he added.

Imran Khan said the life of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) gives a message that all the ordeals in the path of righteousness should be tolerated in a broad manner and even one should be ready to lay down one’s life to the satisfaction of the Creator. He said laden with such passion, one could make significant achievement in the world and for the motherland.

On Youm-e-Ashur Imran Khan has also paid tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiri people who had been struggling against the Indian imperialism in the Occupied Kashmir. He said the Kashmiri people have kept alive the Sunnah of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and made the Occupied Kashmir another great example of the battle between the good and evil.

In his message on the occasion of Ashur, he said Youm-e-Ashur has a significant place in the Islamic history as on this day the grandson of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) Hazrat Imam Hussain along with his family members and companions embraced martyrdom, thus making the tragic event unforgettable till the day of judgment.

Mr. president stressed that this great sacrifice reminds the Muslims every year that they should not be hesitant from sacrificing their lives in the face of forces of evil and vice.

He advised the people to reiterate the resolve that their every action will be in accordance with the teachings of Imam Hussain and aimed at upholding the Islamic traditions and progress and prosperity of the country.

Dr. Arif Alvi also added that we should also express the resolve to fight against extremism, terrorism and intolerant behaviors.

Furthermore, Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has also shared a special message on the occasion of Ashura, in a series of tweets.

Tazia and Zuljanah processions were taken out throughout the country today in memory of martyrs of Karbala, under strict security measures. Mobile services were also suspended in various areas, including the routes of Ashura processions.
