Eidul Adha 2024 to be celebrated on June 17 in Pakistan: Zil Hajj Moon Sighted in Peshawar

Eid ul Adha falls on the tenth day of Zil Hajj, which also marks the Hajj pilgrimage.

The Zil haj Moon was sighted in Peshawar on Friday evening. Eidul Adha 2024 will be celebrated in Pakistan on Jun 17.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee made the final announcement of the Moon sighting after the meeting in Karachi.

The Zil Hajj crescent was visible in Peshawar, the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced after confirming the sighting.

The moon sighting committee was chaired by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, with central and zonal committees’ members, and representatives of SUPARCO, Met Office and Ministry of Religious Affairs in attendance.

Meanwhile, sub-committees in Lahore, Peshawar and other cities are also convening in their respective areas to gather testimonies.

Eid ul Adha falls on the tenth day of Zil Hajj, which also marks the Hajj pilgrimage.

Zil Hajj moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, following which, the Day of Arafah will be on June 15.

Eid Ul Adha will be celebrated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday 16th June 2024.

A statement from the Royal Court was issued shortly after the Dhul Hijjah Crescent was sighted.
