Presumably the most notorious killer in the history of Pakistan has been Javed Iqbal – also known as Makri – who sodomized and killed 100 young boys within a span of one year. As reported by Express Tribune, a web series is underway that will revolve around the live of the serial killer and his victims.
In mid 90s Pakistan saw the face of Javed Iqbal who admitted to killing 100 boys aged 6-16 after raping them. Most of his victims were poor boys whom Javed lured with his tactics. In 2001, after being sentenced to death, Javed committed suicide in his prison cell.
Waar famed Shamoon Abbasi will be at the helm of the web series alongside Sherry Shah. The actor will also be playing the character of the terrifying sociopath turned criminal.
“We made a telefilm about him and his life six years ago,” said Shamoon while speaking to the newspaper. However, according to the actor, some scenes in the film were too unpleasant for the audiences and the censor board did not allow the film to proceed. Thus the actor resorted to a web series.
The web series titled ‘The Story of Javed Iqbal and the 100 smiles’ will be produced by Shaam films and its teaser is expected to release sometime in June.
