The nation demands answers from the Pakistan Cricket Board after finding out that the PCB hired an Indian planner to organize one of the most anticipated Pakistan’s sports events which unfortunately turned out to be a sheer disappointment.
The opening ceremony was held on 20 February 2020 at National Stadium, Karachi, prior to the first match of the season and it turned out to be a let down from various aspects. for the attendees, the real enjoyment came towards the end of the ceremony in the form of the fireworks display. Though the live event was marred with many failed performances, and there were many complaints that the show was lip-synced and poorly delivered.
Indian planner named Shubhra Bhardwaj was paid a fortune by PCB for the opening ceremony of PSL5 and an army of workers hired by the planner were also revealed to be Indian’s and that has irked the Pakistani more than ever.
As the whole world knows the tensions between India and Pakistan, and the neighbouring country currently does not welcome Pakistanis in any of its events and sports activities.
Earlier, PCB fired the host Ahmed Godil has been fired by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for making statements to the media.
Though the PSL5 opening ceremony is done and dusted (quite literally) however the aftermath of the event is still making rounds on social media. On one end there are trolls who aren’t letting go of what went wrong at the event and others have open up another front demanding answers from PCB.
This decision by PCB has open doors of harsh criticism and people took to social media demanding justification over this decision:
