Amid COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic many foreign players have decided to leave Pakistan. PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) had offered the players a choice to stay or leave. So far six players have confirmed their departure. The number, however, is likely to increase.
Peshawar Zalmi’s Tom Banton, Liam Livingstone, Lewis Gregory and Carlos Brathwaite, Karachi King’s Alex Hales and Multan Sultan’s James Vince are among the players who will no longer be taking part in the league. Other players are also monitoring the situation. Teams have been given the option to the aforementioned players.
It remains to be seen what course of action PCB decides to take next. There have been calls from some quarters to conclude the league to ensure the safety of all involved.
