West Indian captain Kieron Pollard has been ruled out of the PSL season V due to a niggle in his right thigh. He was expected to join the team after the series against Sri Lanka. However, Peshawar Zalmi would have to make do would without the all-rounder’s services.
Fellow West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite who was picked as a replacement for Pollard initially will remain with the team for the whole of the HBLPSL.
Is the fun over for Quetta Gladiators?
“I’m sorry I can’t be there in person this year but the team has some inspirational characters leading the charge and I’m sure can give Daren [Sammy] his first trophy as a head coach,” Pollard said in a statement released by the PSL.
The all-rounder was a mainstay for Zalmi last season, performing an all-round role. He will be missed especially given the fact that the team has undergone significant changes this season with Darren Sammy taking up a player-coach role.
