Abbas Zeb climbs to World No 3 in U-17 Squash

As per the international ranking of junior players released by World Squash Federation, 5 Pakistani players were ranked in the top 10 in U-17 & U-19 category.

U-17 category

Abbas Zeb rank 3rd

Uzair Shaukat rank 5th

Haris Qasim rank 6th

U-19 category

Kashif Asif rank 7th

Abbas Zeb 8th

This is a rather remarkable feat especially considering that there haven’t been ranking tournaments in Pakistan in the past 9 months. Players gained points from World Junior Championships and Asian Junior Super Series (AJSS).

Pakistan have struggled to match its former glory in Squash courts. It is perhaps time that money is invested on coaching and in providing opportunities to talented youngsters rather than having tournaments for seniors who have so far struggled to compete at the top level.
