Babar Azam blames middle-order for series loss against England

England beat Pakistan in 4th T20, win series 2-0

Babar Azam blamed the middle order for the series loss against England after the host beat Pakistan in the 4th T20.

In the post-match talk after an embarrassing 2-0 series loss against England at the Oval on Thursday, the Pakistan captain said, “After six overs we were doing very well, but then I got out, the middle-order needs to step up.”

Skipper added that England’s bowling was outstanding, so the Green Shirts had to take their chances.

“Need to sort out those things for the World Cup. A few injuries but a lot of positives, we played well in patches, but to win you need 100%,” Babar Azam added.

However, while commenting on the performance, Babar was happy with how his team played with the bat during the powerplay, but the game took a turn when the innings began fluctuating in the middle overs.

In the final match, England chased Pakistan’s 158-run target in 15.3 overs for losing three wickets.

The series defeat just ahead of the T20 World Cup left the Pakistan cricket fans criticising the team’s performance.
