Darren Gough has been appointed as the head coach of Lahore Qalandars, a prominent franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Gough will join the squad in Guyana on November 23, with the Global Super League set to begin there on November 26.
The team’s management in the official announcement made on Friday expressed excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to appoint Darren Gough as head coach. He will begin his responsibilities with the team in the upcoming Global Super League.”
Former England fast bowler and ex-managing Director of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Darren Gough known for his dynamic playing style and leadership qualities, expressed enthusiasm about the new role.
He highlighted his positive experiences during a prior visit to Pakistan and his ongoing communication with the Qalandars’ management, indicating a strong foundation for his coaching tenure
“It’s an honour to work with Lahore Qalandars. I have previously supported their Player Development Program in Lahore, and I look forward to this new role with the team,” Gough said.
His appointment is expected to bring valuable insights and expertise to the team as they prepare for upcoming challenges in the PSL.
Sameen Rana, the Chief Operating Officer of Lahore Qalandars, warmly welcomed Gough to the team. “We are excited to have Darren on board, and his experience will greatly strengthen our foundation,” Rana said.
