World number one Novak Djokovic beats John Millman to win Japan Open, marking his return from the shoulder injury.
The 31-year-old top-seeded took the final in Tokyo by 6-3 6-2, claiming his fourth title of the year and a 76th of his career.
This was Djokovic’s first tournament since he withdrew from the US Open in September with a shoulder injury.
Djokovic took only 70 minutes to see off his opponent, 30-year-old Australian world number 80 Millman.
Djokovic, who played his first Japanese competition ever, dominated throughout the week, and did not drop a set throughout the tournament.
“I didn’t drop a set, so I played a fantastic tournament,” said Djokovic, who is now headed to China for the Shanghai Masters, which starts on Monday.
“Everything is positive in my experience on and off the court, the way I feel and motivated for Shanghai.
“I am hoping I can finish the season in this style.”
