As Azhar Ali revealed his retirement plans on Friday, Pakistani cricketers react to his decision with emotional notes shared in tweets.
Pakistan’s top-order batter Azhar Ali, while addressing a press conference that he will be retiring from Test cricket following the third Test against England, which begins on Saturday in Karachi at the National Stadium.
Azhar said, “It has been a great honour and privilege for me to represent my country at the highest level. Deciding on when to call it a day is always tough, but, after contemplating deeply, I realised that this is the right time for me to retire from Test cricket.”
Taking it to Twitter, the Pakistan skipper Babaz Azam said, “One very good career comes to an end. I have learned a lot playing with you. Happy retirement, Ajju Bhai.”
