The 38-year-old Swedish football star has been placed in quarantine at home following the test carried out before the team’s Europa League tie against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, according to the Italian club.
The club in a statement on its website said, “All other team members and staff have tested negative”.
The veteran forward, took to social media to share an update about his heath.
“I tested negative to COVID yesterday and positive today. No symptoms what so ever. COVID had the courage to challenge me. Bad idea”, Ibrahimovic said in a tweet.
For being in the quarantine, which will last for14 days, Ibrahimovic will miss the Europa League qualifier against visiting Bodo/Glimt and upcoming Serie A games against league newcomers Crotone and Spezias.
