The much-anticipated sports event, ICC T-20 World Cup kicks off today with a qualifier match between Oman and Papua New Guinea.
India was to host the tournament however amid the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is hosting the ICC event in UAE and Oman.
The first qualifier of the World Cup is being played between Oman and Papua New Guinea, while Bangladesh will face Scotland in the second match.
Tomorrow Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka will open up their matches.
The eight teams in the first round of qualifying matches are chasing four places in the Super 12 round-robin stage.
Pakistan will play its first match against the arch-rivals India on the 24th of this month.
